LAWorld Visits Mexican Congressional Session

LAWorld members from around the world, hosted more than a dozen meetings with lawyers from mid-sized global law firms, during this September’s International Bar Association Conference in Mexico City.

Our members, from Europe, the United States, Canada and Latin America were also granted an opportunity to visit the Mexico Congress in session.  We were the invited guests of Mexico Congressman Fernández and Congressman Hugo Eric Flores. Our visit and arrival was announced on the floor of Mexico’s Congress during a legislative session.  Marcos Ronquillo, Dallas lawyer and Director of the LAWorld Americas region said “We arrived at the Congress during a momentous time. I believe that this is the most diverse congress in the history of Mexico’s legislature, and we saw history being made during our visit”.  Andy Lustigman, New York lawyer and immediate Past Chair of LAWorld, commented that this was a fascinating opportunity for international lawyers to witness a significant moment in a new beginning for Mexico´s politics.
