Akhlil graduated from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom with Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2017 and was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2019.
He has been exposed to and is actively involved in a wide array of legal areas ranging from corporate practice to banking & finance matters. Akhlil also assists the firm with general conveyancing matters.
Amongst the matters that he has been exposed to include the following:
- assisted in the providing legal advice and guidance on compliance with S17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Act with regards to anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies;
- the provision of legal advice on Islamic banking to an international advisory bank;
- involved in the preparation of wassiyyah and hibah declaration documents for Islamic Estate Management
- the provision of legal advice on financial technology related issues to a local technology manufacturing corporation;
- involved in the loan documentation process for the financing in relation to an acquisition of property;
- the provision of legal advice to international companies on local regulations regarding E-Money and E-Wallets;
- the conversion of an existing conventional loan to an Islamic facility;
- involved in multiple due diligence exercises on companies in relation to acquisitions of property and/or investments;
- the provision of legal advice to companies in relation to outstanding corporate issues;
- the documentation process for various housing projects and financing facilities acting on behalf of the developer; and
- the provision of legal advice on Islamic finance to an international law firm;
